FAQ

What should I/we wear?
It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. I always suggest layers/textures. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye. Wear clothes that represent you and who you are. Feel free to bring a change of clothing.

What do I need to bring?
For family and/or children photo sessions: outfit changes, a drink, favorite toy, special stuffed animal. Please make sure your little one has been fed and had a nap before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience.  For newborn sessions, nothing is required but the baby and his/her food source.  I have plenty of props for these sessions.  However, if there is a special item you’d like to use please bring it along and I will do my best to incorporate it.

How long does the photo shoot session last?
The actual session itself usually lasts about 1 hour or up to 3 hours for a newborn session. However, they can be shorter if I feel that I have adequately captured enough images to fill your gallery in less time.

When and How do we book you?
It's never too early to book your session!  If you're wanting to book a newborn session, please do so plenty in advance because time has to be blocked out surrounding your due date.  Newborn sessions are preferably done within the first 14 days of life.  To book, s
imply let me know you would like to book a photo shoot session, what dates work best for you and what type of session you are looking for through my contact page or email me at beckyhowephotography@gmail.com

When will we get our pictures?
Approximately 2 weeks after your session (weddings usually 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year), I will have your gallery completed, which usually consists of 20-30 images. Pictures will be professionally edited, color corrected (if needed), some offered in black & white and all in high resolution. I will usually post a sneak peek photo of the session on my website and/or Facebook page within a few days of your session. You will receive a print release for all of the photos in your gallery as well. This allows you the freedom to print the pictures from anywhere.

Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?
The location of the photo session is up to you.  I have a small in-home studio which I reserve for newborn and small child (under 2) sessions.  While I can do one or two sibling/family shots in this studio, there is not enough room to do an entire family session in the studio. Ideally I prefer to use natural, available light in an outdoor setting. Once your photo shoot date is booked we will discuss what type of feel you are looking for in your photographs, we can then work together to come up with the perfect location. Newborn photo sessions are almost always held within my studio or the comfort of your own home.

How do we get our images?
With every session or package I offer (excluding the mini session), the price listed includes the price of all of the photos in your gallery, along with a print release.  I deliver your images to you via digital download.  In other words, you download the high-resolution files directly from my proofing website to your computer.   If you are interested in having professional prints made, you can easily order directly from my proofing site as well.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. I would love to hear from you. Thank you!
