FAQ

What should I/we wear?
It is best to keep clothing simple, avoiding logos or busy patterns. I always suggest layers/textures. In group photos, color coordinating is always more pleasing to the eye, and many great examples can be found on Pinterest. Wear clothes that represent you and who you are!

What do I need to bring?
For family and/or children photo sessions feel free to bring outfit changes, a drink, favorite toy or special stuffed animal. Please make sure your little one has been fed and had a nap before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience.  For newborn sessions, nothing is required aside from the baby and his/her food source.  I have plenty of props, backdrops, wraps, headbands and tie backs for these sessions.  However, if there is a special item you’d like to use please bring it along and I will do my best to incorporate it.

How long does the photo shoot session last?
Plan for your portrait session to last up to 1 hour or up to 3 hours for a newborn session. However, sessions can be shorter if I feel that I have adequately captured enough images to fill your gallery in less time.

When and how do we book you?
It's never too early to book your session!  If you're wanting to book a newborn session, please do so plenty in advance as I block out time surrounding your due date.  Newborn sessions are preferably done within the first 20 days of life.  To book a portrait session, simply let me know what dates work best for you and what type of session you are looking for!  You can use my contact page or email me at beckyhowephotography@gmail.com.

When will we get our pictures?
Approximately 2 weeks after your session (weddings usually 4-8 weeks depending on the time of year), I will have your gallery completed. Your gallery will be professionally edited, color corrected (if needed) and contain high-resolution images. I will usually post a sneak peek photo of the session on my website and/or Facebook page within a few days of your session (unless you request otherwise).

Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?
The location of the photo session is up to you!  Ideally I prefer to use natural, available light in an outdoor setting. Once your photo shoot date is booked we will discuss what type of feel you are looking for in your photographs, we can then work together to come up with the perfect location. Newborn photo sessions are almost always held within the comfort of your own home. I currently do not have a studio, but I can do limited newborn sessions in my home if necessary.

How do we get our images?
With every session or package I offer, the price listed includes the price of all of the photos in your gallery along with a print release.  I deliver your images to you via digital download.  In other words, you download the high-resolution files directly from my proofing website to your computer.   If you are interested in having professional prints made, you can easily order directly from my proofing site as well.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. I would love to hear from you!
